Cherry-Chocolate Stout

One Spring evening after grilling stakes with friends, the charcoal was still glowing hot when my wife brought down fresh sweet cherries for desert. It was her idea to throw them on the grill, "Remember how good and sweet grilling pineapple and peaches made them? The caramelized surface was so nice. Lets throw some cherries on there and see what happens." Well, it makes sweet cherries sweeter; it takes away the tartness and leaves you with something that tastes like pie filling.

Somebody mentioned something about chocolate...and voilà. In addition to cherries, this stout has Madagascar vanilla and Belgium candy for a lacy head.

I cannot promise this beer will be around long, but holy cow is it good. If you don't get to have any before it's gone, be sure to throw some fresh fruit on the grill next time you have both available.
