On my first trip to Germany, I stayed in a small village with cobblestone streets lined with traditional Bavarian architecture. The center of town was blocked to vehicles and tables placed in the street. My colleagues and I had just come off a red-eye flight, our internal clocks were wrecked, and we needed a light lunch before getting some rest before the next day's work. We just sat at a table in the street and pointed at something interesting on the menu. The lady asked us several questions, and we simply agreed to everything without understanding a word. About 10 minutes later she reappeared with three tall glasses of cloudy beer with a thick lathery head.

Try as I may, I will never recreate that Bavarian morning. It was one of those total experience moments...but that hasn't stopped me from trying.

Hefe-weizen means "yeast-wheat" in German. Out of respect of that first experience, my Hefeweizen is as authentic as I can make. It is keg-conditioned (unfiltered) wheat beer made with a specific yeast strain that has a very familiar, yet oddly difficult-to-identify flavor. No spoilers here; try it for yourself. Oh, and if you are ever given the chance to visit Germany, do!

APV: ~4.8%

We do not currenly have the necessary licensing to sell beer. Ironically, there is no law against giving it away for free, so we are giving free beer to friends and enthusiasts to help gain recognition and build a loyal base of would-be future customers. Look for us at the conclusion of grassroots sports car events in the Southeast.
